What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a hands-on, non-invasive modality that engages the body’s innate capacity for self-regulation and healing. Clients remain fully clothed during sessions, which are typically experienced as deeply calming and restorative.

Rooted in osteopathic principles, BCST works with the subtle rhythmic movements of the craniosacral system—comprising the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord—to assess and support the health of the entire body.

Despite its name, Craniosacral Therapy is not limited to the cranium and sacrum. It is a full-body approach that uses light touch to encourage the release of injury, stress and trauma.

Trauma occurs when our nervous system is overwhelmed beyond our ability to respond. This can create tension in the body and contribute to illness and injury. BCST slows things down and creates space for the body to decompress and return to its inherent blueprint for health. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system and tones the vagus nerve. As overwhelm is resolved from the inside out, rather than just coping with life, clients are able to thrive again.
